The short version: we collect your email — and, only if you give it, your name and the occasions you care about — so we can notify you when playlist.rest launches. Each signup also notes basic source info: the page that linked you here and any campaign tags in the link (utm_source & friends), so we know how people find us.
Joining is a two-step confirmation. Signing up stores your address as pending and emails you a confirmation link (valid 72 hours); only clicking it adds you to the list. Nobody can subscribe an address they don't control. Confirming sets one strictly-necessary cookie on the confirm page — it holds your confirmation token for up to 72 hours so the page works if you reload it — and nothing else here sets cookies. You'll get a confirm email to verify your address, a short welcome once you've confirmed, and one email at launch — that's all, ever.
We keep a record with your signup: the times you signed up and confirmed, the network addresses used, and the exact wording you agreed to. It's kept while you're subscribed and for three years after you unsubscribe, as Canada's anti-spam law expects of senders.
Every subscriber email carries an unsubscribe link — one click, effective immediately, no login, no questions. You can also withdraw consent anytime by emailing us. Unsubscribing stops all playlist.rest email to your address; rejoining later starts a fresh confirmation.
We count a few interactions (outbound-link clicks, email/phone link clicks, and completed waitlist confirmations) via Cloudflare Zaraz, forwarded to Google Analytics. Those events carry only link destinations and interaction types — never anything you type or submit. No advertising trackers, no selling or sharing your data, no spam.
